The City Clerk serves as Clerk to Council, attends all Council meetings,
and records the minutes of those meetings. The Clerk also is responsible for retaining archives of
Council meetings, records of individuals subjected to municipal bonding
requirements, and maintaining all General Fund records for the City.
The Clerk also receives and handles citizen complaints, acting as a
go-between to coordinate City efforts to resolve complaints. The Clerk
must also be responsible for the codification of all City ordinances.
The Clerk serves as the Clerk for the Municipal Election Commission and
handles the duties of the general election every two (2) years along
with recording and maintaining all records for municipal elections.
The City Clerk also assists the Municipal Judge with Municipal Court,
maintains the City Court records of jury trials, prepares the jury box,
summons the jurors, and handles other Court correspondence as needed.
The City Clerk also processes community service workers from City and
County Courts to worksites in City locations. The City Clerk also
serves as risk manager for the City handling all vehicle and tort
claims.
